If you love traveling to seek out great wine, eating delicious food with wine, or basically anything to do with wine, then youāve come to the right place. Iām Laura, your go-to gal for all things wine and wanderlust.
How did I end up here, you ask? Well, let me tell youā¦
It started as a personal passionā¦devouring any book I could find about wine, driving long distances to seek out a new varietal, and installing a fridge that takes up half our dining room (okay, maybe itās turned into a bit of an obsession). And then I decided to join the Great Resignation, leaving my 15-year corporate marketing job with no plan other than to ādo something with wine.ā
Since then, Iāve passed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 3 with Distinction (sort of like a sommelier but without the service part) and became an American Wine Expert.
Letās see, what else? Well, I love traveling. Ever since I spent a semester abroad in London, I havenāt stopped planning my next trip ā 24 states and 30 countries (only 167 to go!). My favorite ones have included touring vineyards and finding cool wine bars and shops (or as we say in Boston, āpackyā stores). Now that my hubby is in tow, we also have to work in a few whiskey tastings along the way.
Oh, and Iām a bit of a foodie. We love finding unique restaurant experiences when we travel, whether itās a tasting menu at a Michelin-star restaurant or a hole-in-the-wall spot with great local food. At home, I like trying new recipes with interesting pairings (champagne and french fries, anyone?).
So, where was I? Oh yes, over the years my friends started coming to me for wine recommendations and requesting my travel itineraries for their trips. I began thinking you might find them useful too. Thatās why I created this blog and Iām so happy youāre here!
I hope this is a place you can come for trip-planning time savings, travel essentials, and winederlust inspiration.
